We call them "caveman mallets" for obvious reasons.
They're simply a LOT of fun, both to make and to come up with a slogan that fits individual needs. Sarcasm is more often than not in the "pegged" mode.
Perfect for gag gifts to anyone with a sense of humor.
Each mallet is made with pine, juniper, or aspen, although other woods can be used, too. It's a personal preference, really.

They can come in any size, although most of them are no more than 12 inches high with a 2-4 inch diameter handle....just right for getting a really good grip to do the dirty deed.
The mallet head is usually 6-7 inches long and 4-5 inches in diameter leaving impact to one's imagination as to damage that might get done.
The sayings/slogans are carved into the mallet heads by hand, and a leather string is run through the haft of the mallet to allow for hanging in an office, den, or other favorite location.
