CAKE & PIZZA STANDS

As with every piece of functional art we produce, the varieties of wood are pretty much unlimited according to personal preferences and availability.

One of the more available types of wood here in Colorado is something called “pine beetle”.  This is just a euphemistic term that some use to describe a pine tree killed by an infestation of pine beetles.  The bluish stain is a result of the infestation, itself.

The stand shown is a combination of pine beetle and honey locust.

Cake/pizza stands, like the one shown, can be made with lazy suzans to accommodate rotation of the top.
